No no, we're doing a series of weekends away on the ferry during summer, and pondering where we can get to from Picton in a day and a half. Blenheim's obviously one spot, though currently looking at Nelson and beyond.

No idea what people's opinion of Blenheim is?

Cheers, Dave.

I've been there 3 times - twice for airshows and once for work. Didn't think there was a whole heap to see/do in Blenheim itself (apologies to anyone that lives there)

Probably very good for wine tours though...

Well having just been there :p

You could get to the Nelson lakes. Kaikoria, Golden Bay. (I assume 36 hrs includes return) 10 hrs from Blenium 2 Dunedin 1 way
Blenheim has lots of grapes
To the east you have rolling hills, they are dry when we were there. Up the wairau valley you have forests and after about 40min you have the river. Lakes are 1.10 from Blenheim which is 25 min from Piction. Between Nelson Picton there is a valley lush green.
Landscape wise Blenheim is dull.

Oh Woman in Blenheim show a lot of cleverage ......... hey it was something I noticed ...... excuse me for been a red blooded male :)

Also have you been up to Able Tasman Park?- thats also mental

Great drive all the way from Picton to Nelson to Westport and down to Greymouth

Haven't been to Blenheim myself.

Ok IT Help time

Over the school holiday I want to learn a few bits. 1 is exchange server. So the main question is what is the most simple way to set up a smtp connection.
Do I just get some dummy domain name and point to dynamic DNS as I dont want to mess around with my current domain name.

So far I have Win2003 ent as AD, Win2003 std + Exchange 2003 and win2003 std + ISA2006. All Virtual boxes

yep, everyone recommends a trip on the mail boat, I missed out on that one when I was there, but took a flight on the float plane based in Picton instead. Absolutely a wonderful and exciting flight, my camera fell upwards several times ;)

There are 2 ways you can do it.

1) Get a dynamic dns name and point that at your isa server
2) get a pop3 to smtp utility to download your mail from a pop3 mailbox to exchange. There are plenty of those on the web. The one I have used is called EFS.

Of course if you want to publish OWA out on to the web you might need either 2 dns names (1 for SMTP and 1 for HTTP) or a dns name for HTTP and EFS for inbound mail.

Good time too with the higher NZ$. Personally unless it was saving about a 1/3 $$ I would never import a body as Canon don't offer Int warranties on bodies, where as they do wth US model lenses.

Yeah I don't plan to buy from the US, unless NZ supplies are really slow.

Quick snap verdict of Blenheim people?

Blenheim people seem to be OK. A Little backward but not threatening at all.

I much prefer Picton but either would make a good base.
