Here it is, sorry they are pretty crappy as I was in a hurry and shot against a bright background so the noise can be seen a bit more at the vase

I'm disappointed. The 7D is a lot noisier than I expected at 3200 and 6400 ISO. I prefer pretty clean images.

From which camera for example?

That's not what I meant. I meant I prefer to shoot at or below 1600 ISO because I haven't see anything satisfactory above that, at least, not from a cropped sensor.

Honestly, these don't look that far off from the 5DMKII.
I'm not saying it's even, but the 5DMKII isn't TONS better, that's for sure...

The focus is different between the shots, the CA would be green or purple depending on which side focus point it is on.

I tried the 7D in jessops shop and it looks like a really great camera...shame about the £1699 price tag though... :/

A D700 is the same price!

Reportedly the 7D is actually a bit heavier than the 5D MkII (with grip), which is in turn noticeably heavier than 50D (with grip). I use 50Ds and 5D MkII alongside each other. I imagine I'll be getting 7Ds eventually, but am not really looking forward to my right arm aching even more than it does now after a 12 hour day shooting with the 5D MkII!

Question... What is the button in the middle of the grip on the 7D (under your 2nd or 3rd finger)? I didn't see it labeled in any way on the various previews or on the Canon website.

It's only 3/10ths of an ounce (10 grams) heavier the the 5DII. I doubt you'd even notice it. It's also smaller, though, so the more compact size would seem to equalize such a minor weight difference.

I agree with you. I think my point is, whether the degree of noise in these pictures is acceptable or not is a matter of personal taste. It's a purely subjective choice.

I wouldn't shoot at these high ISO. Some of you will say it's better to get the shot at this noise level than not at all. Fine, if that's important to you, I can't argue with you. But for me, photography is all about aesthetics and the noise I'm seeing at 3200 ISO and above turns me off. It's not a matter of me being right or wrong, it's just my personal taste. I'm sure I'm not alone in this forum.
