Tom, I am going to try to make it this weekend, if so perhaps we will see each other. I had wanted to get over last weekend as the weather and timing were preferable to me, but it didn't work out like that.

Be sure to check with us or the park on roads, the Norris Madison is closed and Test Thumb to Lake is sed de to fire. With the snow it may open. Mammoth CG has been filling by 11:30 last couple days.

Thanks Maslow! The elk seem to stick their tongues out alot, its how they smell one another from the scent glands on the roof of their mouth. I was told this by a Ranger when I asked why they stick their tongues out so much

Man I wish Yellowstone was a day trip. I miss the mountains......

Nice pictures. we were in Mammoth a few years ago and a few days after we left a photographer got gored by a bull elk in Mammoth after his flash went off. They like to protect their herd so be careful this time of year.
