Hello all ,
many thanks for taking part in the challenge
as usual it was very difficult having to choose from the delightful pictures, all showing different aspects of public transport in and around your neighbourhood
just a few words in order as they are listed when entering the challenge
then... Congratulations to the winners and runners up
# 1 CHISEL
'July 4th 2009'
beautiful shot . love the colour and composition of the lovely carriage
'Concorde Bus for Millionaires'
smashing shot of the inside of this very special high flyer, now no more
it must be so very narrow inside.
hard to imagine the food trolly and hostess wheeling through
( and not being pinched )
I love the light glimmering here and there along the aisle (flash)
and the day light coming in through the windows
# 3 PAUL B
great natural capture of what goes on when travelling among people by train
or sometimes bus , but mostly trains as conductors have been done away with on the bus
the child beside the (terrific) lady is enjoying watching the man with the camera
# 4 RPOLITSR
really nice candid capture
taking the shot a little more to the right may have got all of the few persons sitting on the bench as well as the bus itself , which I am sure was really the main objective
and thanks for that
# 5 KEVAN G9
the best kind of companions, the strong silent type
not sure you added them on but no, I don't think so, really and truly
love the whole idea, whoever thought it up
hope the lovely carriage is not in a cemetery for rusty oldies ) :
the weeds growing around seem very fresh and happy , as happy as this coach makes one just looking at it
# 6 CARLOY
'Friday trolley past Pier 15'
love the coach passing by.
its marvellous how much you got in the beautiful scene
small detail nit pick...the sign in the foreground could be cropped out and the rail over the top of the 'station' maybe also
# 7 FERGIE
not sure if the missus is included when you say 'Bygone days'
just kidding lol
must have been a terrific coach to have been able to sit in as it rounded the bends in the beautiful scenery in Bonny Scotland. so much craftmanship in the detail. lovely shot
# 8 MAUREEN SOUZA
' San Francisco Cable car'
great to see this shot
I wonder did anyone ever fall off
and is insurance cover added to the fares lol . anyone drunk or disorderly (or otherwise) could lose it (whatever it is) here
# 9 SHARKKK
welcome to the challenge
very good photo showing lots of lines in the design and the colour all over is really lovely also
the picture seems to be begging for people to come on board to give it warmth and meaning
I like the newspaper there, ..it gives it a feeling of something having happened and everyone had to flee
# 10 QWERTY
'Adult ' ?
great shot and the angle works really well
this young lot are regaining their childhood ...... far far far from the maddening crowd of 'adulthood'
# 11 BOTTOMBRACKET
'Pedicab anyone? please?
great action on the busy crowded street
its always very difficult to take a shot in a situation like it
the title is perfect regards thoughts of the cab ' driver'
the light is reflecting a little hard on the window screen
Congratulations to the winner
# 1 PaulB
and runners up
# 2 Qwerty
# 3 Kevan
to everyone, I enjoyed the photographs very much.
many thanks everyone
Challenge # 243 - 'public transport'
Welcome to Challenge # 243

good composition ... even though vehicles may be moving
including people in the pictures will be very welcome
natural candid stuff if possible
(don't forget the rules regards measurements
just in case .... Irfanview.com can be a big help to resizing etc )
thanks and good luck
