Finaly got a chance to find one used "affordable" blue dot, so I make the plunge. I have always like the 40D output but the 1D3 are just more . First test show that the AF are pretty good and fast. Images at low ISO are gorgeous and the one at high ISO are very good. I was excited to go try this body in the nature, some take this week end, not a duck,a buck is OK?

Here's a series from little league football: Used 300mm f4, all handheld. I really enjoy using the 1D3.

The 300/4 works well for peewee football like that because you get to zoom in close, thus getting nice amounts of background blur, as you would with a 300/2.8 w large football players.

Thanks. I had fun that day. I just happened over to the field; didn't know if there was a game or not. I just enjoy watching the young'ns play.

Thanks for the info, and heads up. After giving the photo a second (and third) looksee, I thought that it might be natural, late day lighting. Great timing. I'll bet you WAITED a while KNOWING that the light would be just right, to capture that shot(s).

Once again, very suh-weet!!

some other deer with the 1D3. At this time of the year the sun go down very fast, so the active period with light are very short. This is where the 1D3 come handy, the image quality are so clean at 800 iso and up. taken with 70-200 f4IS and Kenko pro DG converter (portrait) and also the 400mm f5.6 .
