^^Those are great. I don't have the confidence to photograph an entire bus station like that. Usually I just take one or two shots and then move on. Nice work!

Thanks abjam77.. The Lao are pretty relaxed having their photos taken,,most enjoy it or even encourage it..

What I like to do is sit down where there are people milling around and start taking pictures.. I usually start with a tele lens isolating my subjects then move from there.. Once they get used to me being there they normally ignore me.. Children are a bit different,,they'll often ham it up for the camera..

HKdave,,are you living in Hong Kong?? Great city for photography..

Yes, although I don't get out on the street as often as I'd like to. Very envious of you guys getting out in the sticks. My wife is not very adventurous. I have however managed to convince her to go to Yangshuo this month. Hopefully have some pics to add to this thread when I return.

Here's a link to a new friend of mine from Hohhot named Emyr Pugh. Good thing for us he's a Canon guy. All he shoots are Asian street candids.

Jurgen,

I think my wife's idea of remote is a little different to mine and yours

I'm trying to resurrect my days of backpacking train travel with limited success but I don't think I'll ever get her to the outer flung regions of China which I'd love to explore. Then again, you never know!!

Dave,,, it looks like you'll go alone if possible..

My wife has been to some of the remotest regions in Laos when she was managing an education project for AusAid.. But nowadays she leaves this kind of travel to me..

I just love getting out and about, and seeing the real Asia..That definitely doesn't mean resorts in Thailand or the cities etc..

I posted all my really good shots first, so these are some of my more mediocre ones.

Not much of a candid shooter but I got this one of a wood carver in an Ainu village in Hokkaido.
