Lightroom Export File Numbering Problem. HELP

OK, so here at work we shoot a bunch of object on a 5DMarkII import to Lightroom. Every is cool so far. We export DNG's to a folder labeled for the work order number, 02598 and have Lightroom add a sequential number to the end of it. So the file number looks like this R-02598-0001. We'll shoot 10 or 20 twenty things and export. Everything is fine so far. Come back the next day to continue the work order and Lightroom wants to start the naming process at 0001 again even though there already is an 0001 through 0025. So how do we get Lightroom to start the naming at the next number in the sequence?

Just change the starting number in the Export box. Otherwise, LR will use the "sticky" value that was last set, and then will prompt you to either overwrite existing files or create a "unique" name, meaning suffixing an additional sequence number.

True dat. Seems like if you import it as the number you want it to be then it will export as the same just with the DNG extension

Yes it will, if you keep the export naming choice as "Filename".
