Has anyone called Adorama to find out where they are in the kit pre-order list?

If so, when did you order and where are you in line?

I read somewhere they received 600 bodies in the first shipment. I am hoping they receive about the same amount of kits. I have been told I am in the first 100 kit pre-orders.

Mine arrived from J&R yesterday, and the grip arrived from cameralensrentals today. It's a pity the grip is still designed to look like a tack-on. I like the way Pentax handled it with their K20D: that combination (external link) looks like a built-in grip. It's really just a matter of aesthetics, but I appreciate such things. Oh well.

How many RAW files can you get in an 8gb card at ISO100? What about ISO1600 and ISO3200?

Did you get any tracking info from Barry on the grip? I haven't heard anything from him since I received the body and even asked about the grip in the Market Watch thread.

BTW - where are you located?

Newegg has the body in stock guys if you don't want to wait for other pre-orders you may have. I just ordered one.

I also just got home from Best Buy with the kit but I would rather use my preferred account with Newegg since its no interest for 12 months. I am going to return the kit from Best Buy that I got when the one from Newegg gets here.

Yes, I received the grip from Barry today! I am really impressed with the service and communication he offers; if you contact him, he will reply quickly.

I'm in northern California (SF Bay Area).

Thanks for the info. I just sent him an e-mail so hopefully I'll hear back from him by COB Monday.

I did receive the 7D body from him and have rented from him before, so I know he is very good about communication. That's why I was kind of surprised to hear people are receiving their grips before I heard anything from Barry.
