N.Z. Tui in a Kowhai ......

Hi all,

Our native N.Z. nectar eating birds can't resist a Kowhai tree in flower. And to give yourself the best chance of finding one of these irredescent feathered subjects is to find a single, lone Kowhai. If there are any Tuis or Bellbirds in the area, they'll more than likely be in it.

That's a great looking bird Matt, and super shots of it. I would love to hear what they sound like, any links to a site for the vocals? Love the lace around the head! I have to see one of these someday.

Thanks Matt, I listened to all 3 of them. Very strange calls, some of them remind me of monkeys in the jungle. Very unique sounds and interesting info. on these birds. I hope you see them and post some more.
