Thanks! That's what a CPL during sunset does. I was pretty shocked at the difference it made!

Here's a couple kind of a fun ones from last Fourth of July -- 30 second shots of the Portland, OR waterfront busy with boats on the move, including a patrol boat in the second one with flashing blue lights across the river, and in both some fireworks going off in the middle of the river.

Hey, thanks -- it was a busy night, the crowds were leaving where I was, and a lot of boats on the move. Fortunately, the effect of the moving boats was kinda cool.

still playing with sizing in photoshop... not fun...

but this shot is done with the kit lens on a 450D any comments on sharpness bokeh etc? it is one of the few that i am totally happy with at 100% ( the original file)have over 9000shots so far... if the auto-focus is off i would like to know ... as i see some here with the kit lens have amazingly sharp shots... or maybe it is just my copy of the lens... thanks in advance ...

Wow! I really like the color and texture of the sky in several of these shots. Also the last one at the train station is great. The contrast between the moving people and the stillness of the station says it all... Well done!
