Sticking with the Apollo and tri clamp on this one. The Dragon Imaging stuff is why I 'was' seriously looking at AB.

What's the pricing on the Dragon Imaging stuff?

Good to hear.

Went to Leo's shop in Collingwood (ie a few hundred metres from home) today - it's only open an hour a day until next week, when it'll be open properly.

I think it'll be pretty good - certainly easier on the eyes than the website!

Can anyone see any danger in having a shop that sells cheap lighting gear about five minutes walk from home?

I already have one of these mounts (external link) for 1-3 speedlights (just gotta buy the extra two holders for the second and third flashes) which allows you to use speedlights with monoblock gear.

So I'm looking at some new softboxes, and looked at some today at the shop. Sigh.

I'll probably go back tomorrow and see if the Elinchrom fitting will let me shove 3x550EX into it, or just two.

A beauty dish would be nice, too...

I'll go and check his shop out next week. I was just speaking to him as I received a duplicate order from him this morning. It's the same order that arrived a couple of weeks ago. I have a feeling him having a shopfront could be bad for my wallet.

After playing with Mic's PWs on Saturday I am tempted to pull the trigger on some for myself. On ebay a set of two Flex TT5s and a Mini TT1 can be had for $818AU shipped.

I think I need to do a bit more testing though before I pull the trigger (pun intended).

How'd that happen? Did he just lose track of things?

It's happened to me before, a computer company sent my order out twice. Good times!

My mates have bought Asics Tigers off eBay and they've received the same pair a few weeks later. Guess they just don't care :p

Sure, but what about your next modifier purchase (in a couple of weeks, when you're back)?

And what is the current thinking?

50" Apollo. ;) There's nothing stoping me from hanging a 2nd umbrella bracket upsidedown in an apollo for a 4th flash. ;)

Oh but they are. Unless it's CONUS only. :(

and if you read the fine print

"433 MHz units sold in Europe and other parts of the world are not greatly impacted by RF interference."

BTW I love the amount of detail dragon image gives in relation to their 1200 Watt portable strobe... do they actually sell any?

Hey everybody.

as usual, long time no see.

I started having an issue with my iphone about 4 weeks ago, in that when 3G was turned on in the options, the phone would not load data/make calls or anything. However when 3G was turned off and edge was in use, I could load data and everything.

So I send my iphone away to optus, it's been 2 weeks and they say they have a quote for me. They want $350 to repair or $50 to cancel because it apparently has water damage. But I know for fact that my phone hasn't come in contact with water for atleast 3 months. I dropped it in the snow once. but quickly brushed it all off and pocketed it. (It worked fine from that point on up until 4 weeks ago)

I know water can damage the phone after a while if there is still water in there, but I really get the feeling that maybe the 2 problems are totally seperate problems, like the little water damage indicator got wet from the snow and the reception issue is just completely different..

So pretty much I have to pay $350 for the phone to be fixed, when I don't actually know for sure whether it was the water that caused the damage.. and they won't fix it for free because it has apparently been "wet"..

So yeah, just had to vent a little..
