I got the 70-200 lens with my first Canon camera couple years ago, when I had to switch from another system.
For a long time this lens was not used very often, first, because there is no place in my bag, second, I found it waaaay too long. I took it with me only when I knew I had to shoot sports or something like this.

But a month ago I got my FF camera and I am absolutely stunned with the image quality this lens delivers.

The focal distance 70-200 makes it perfect for single portrait shoot out. This the one I took few days ago:

Camera: Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II
Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture: f/4.0
Focal Length: 130 mm
Exposure: +1.05
ISO Speed: 125
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

I'd like to carry it with me all the time.

And this is my first question in this thread: how do you carry it? in the bag? Original lens case? Third party lens case?

Thanks!

But even the bee did not like me! he turned away!

I didn't really care, I took this picture at the park waiting a girl coming for her senior pictures. She was late, and I got bored, so I snapped what I could. :)

your photos are absolutley stunning as you put it. love the portrait.
I carry on my camera most times as I shoot mostly my sons soccer games.
If I were to carry more gear it would be in my Canon backpack.

Yarrrgh... I made a deal of this lens today. It's going to be my first L-lens, hopefully it will be worth the wait.

This is a must have lens for everybody!

Money well spent, stays on my body 80% of the time!
There's to many nice photos taken with this lens to share them all

The lens is definitely more useful on a full frame body, even on the 1.3x crop of my 1D Mark II has it found more use than when I had a 1.6x body. I love it.
