Where can I get a cute song for my website? I do kid photography, so I want something fun and upbeat.

I suggest not putting music on your website. It really turns people off.

My stuff:
A low-light hi-def rapid shooter, a sniper, a couple old school 35s.

Some L, a nifty f/1.4, a kit IS, some slow EFs and two crappy Qs.

+1 I did this for a charitable org my wife runs and within 1 week the complaints were frequent, even with an option to turn it off. They don't want to hear your choice of music.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

This thread inspired me to leave the music on my site as an option if they push play thru the jukebox, but not have it start upon site load.

Sound fair?

Nothing wrong with that. What I don't like, and leave immediately, if it's default "ON".

triplescoopmusic.com is someone that we've used before. Good, inexpensive music.

Definitely have the option to turn it ON rather than OFF - so friggen annoying I just x-out immediately. Even the music related sites now have it so you have to press play before it will begin!!

One person's "cute" is another person's "obnoxious"....

Generally speaking, music on websites is not a good idea. It can slow the site down, how much depends upon the viewer's connection, and you are imposing your taste in music on people you don't know, and may or may not send them away in droves. So it's risky. Unnecessarily risky.

If you want music, make it optional... Default "off", with an easy means for people to turn it on if they wish and have a fast enough connection that it won't matter.

That's just my opinion. You could probably Google up some studies on the subject to help with your decision.

I have no idea where to get music. Surely there are places on the Internet to license various tunes for commercial usage, just like photos.

It's not an uncommon attitude...think of it as some free market research!

That's fair enough...but do either of you click away on principle if you open a website that doesn't have music?
