I just sold my lens in sell section and the buyer paid by paypal. Instead of using normal paypal, he sent the money as a gift. So I don't see any address of him. I got a warning from paypal that said the transaction is not under seller protection since no address included in the buyer information when the money sent as gift. I have never done this before. The good thing is paypal didn't charge me any fee to receive the money. However, any risk to send the lens to the buyer? Please help. Thanks.

For gift option there is no Paypal protection. Use it iff you know the seller well.

As long as your account shows that you have the money, then I don't think it would be a problem. just make sure you ship it with a confirmation or signature required.

If the buyer has good feedback, then there's very minimal risk.

You have two options:

1. Withdraw the fund to your bank account. Accept the small risk and send the item (insured).
2. Refund the money and ask the buyer to pay again as an item instead of gift. You will incur the fee but you have the protection in case something goes south.

Just got the clarification from the buyer. I think we are good and I will send out the lens tonight. Thank you very much guys. You all have a good day.
