I know another thread about the camera.
Today I went into Pictureline here in SLC to give it a try. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. So I asked to view one and put in my own card to look at the samples when I got home.
First let me say the camera feels very very solid in your hand. I have pretty darn big hands, yet it felt good in my hand. Felt solid.
The button layout was quite different, it took me a bit of scanning just to figure out how to turn it on. I like the ease of going from camera to video. The layout once you get used to it is nice.
LCD, solid. Colors are accurate.
So anyways from the start I jacked the ISO up to 6400 and shot away, going from 6400 to 1600. This is my opinion of the camera.....
Image quality is solid, I would almost say as good as the Mark III. High ISO shots look exactly like the Mark III in term of grain, but even then maybe a touch more smaller. A good grain to the images.
ISO 5000 looks like ISO 1600 on a 50D. It is on Par with the Mark III ISO wise, and the images are much larger as well.
Again this is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth. But if you are on the fence, this camera's image quality is solid.
