which explains the 5dm2 in your equipment list

ya, i made a mistake. my heart was set on D700 before i bought the 5DII but money was a huge factor. if i had the extra cash i would sell it and go nikon in a second. if i sell this i'll be losing to much and then i lose on glass. when the D700 replacement comes out i'll hopefully have some more money to blow and hopefully buy one with a couple primes. if they don't replace it soon and moneys flowing better i might switch later next year. we'll see.

And until then we'll get to hear about why your 5D sucks and the 7D sucks and the 50D sucks. Great.

For what it's worth, 5D MKII's are still catching good money in the classifieds. You could probably get close to clearing the $2449.00 you need to get a D700 from B&H. I'd say strike while the iron is hot.

Just my thoughts, why be miserable?

Congrats! Pay no attention to the crappy posts :D The 7D is a great camera that you'll love. I think the Vivid style is best simulated by using Standard, +1 to saturation, +1 to contrast, 3 on sharpening.
Give 'er a shot!

Im gonna give that a try.
Thanks

Exactly, Nikor lenses leave a lot to be desired.

Well, some of them are quite good, but there are lots of gaps, and the area between "crappy" and "nice but $2k" is replete with crickets and tumbleweeds.

Is this true ? I'd be surprised if their overall quality:cost ratio is that much different than Canon's.

Nah, I'm happy when people defect. Better deals in the sell forum.

Who knows better than me? I sold off 11 L lenses and my MKIII and 1DsMKIII when I jumped ship. Great prices. They got snapped up like night crawlers on the end of a hook.

When I come aboard again, people in the Nikon forum will get great deals too.
