There are certain topics with which you must become familiar:

1) Color Space - most digital cameras operate in one of two color spaces - either AdobeRGB, or sRGB
2) Some viewing software understands and employs color space and some does not - so, different viewing software gives different results.
3) Color monitors are sometimes responsible for poor color balance and color rendition. Try to compare your monitor with others using a given sample image.

thank you very much Robert Lay. I have just traveled to a sea in Busan and there are some pictures that I want to show.

Bit of a lurker here but I figure I'd post it up. I've had the camera for two weeks now but we've been moving so I've had no chance to use it. This is the first (and only) picture I've taken for it so far.

I shot with a Fuji S-series camera for a good 5-6 years and this is one heck of an upgrade in comparison. It's like going from a Honda Civic to a Mercedes Benz as far as I'm concerned! I can't wait to get outdoors and start snapping away with it. I already have an adapter, step-up ring kit, and a polarizer for it so it's just a matter of finding some free time now. :)

Impressive MFor! Was the 2nd one of the bug shot with just the camera or did you have additional macro/conversion/etc lenses attached? I'm new to these G cameras so am still unfamiliar with the additional lenses required (if any) for these types of shots.

Thanks! I'll have to look into one of those lenses if/when I decide to go for the Lensmate add-ons.

Usually I use only macro mode from G10 without any flash + PP (some framing, colours, contrast, sharpness), sometimes I also use adapter tube (Chinese aluminium copy of Canon LA-DC58K) + Raynox DCR-250 or lens taken out from old Sankyo film camera + quite seldom Sunpak RD2000 flash with the built-in diffuser on flash cable (Chinese copy of Canon OC-E3 TTL).

I always take photo in .jpeg, RAW it's a lot of loss of time in PP for me (so far).

This is the best macro of an insect ive managed to get using the cheap macro lens off a cheapo ebay wide lens converter.

i find it kinda hard to focus when using the macro lens as it seems to have a somewhat fixed focal length at a certain distance 10-15cm away from the lens itself so i just move the camera to find the sweet spot n click and hope for the best!

Ive gotten a better macro lens since although it doesnt seem to get as close but there is less "blue fringes". Havent gotten round to using it yet though!

Do you run these through any noise reduction software?
BTW: these pics are amazing!
