Transcend CF cards - any good?

Does anyone have any experience with Transcend CF cards? They seem to be much cheaper than equivalents from Sandisk, Lexar etc, so I was wondering whether they were worth it.

I have a couple. I've had zero problems with them over the course of a year using them.

I have the 8gb 133x. It's worked well for my purposes. On Amazon, someone posted read and write speeds for Transcend and Sandisk. I would take a look:

i have the 4GB and 8GB 133 and 266 cards, zero problems over 2 years of use.

Same here - have three Transcend CF cards that have been used for a couple of years now with no problems.

Thanks for all the input. I read the amazon comparison but I think the Transcend would be plenty fast enough for normal use - agreed?

Card writing speed is important to people who do lots of bursts of shooting, or who have older cameras with small buffers. For general use I wouldnt double the cost of my card to increase the speed. A possible exception might be for the new generation of cameras with quicker write speeds, it might be nice to take advantage of that capability but still not critical to what I do.

I think that's my view. I have a 40D, so I think the write speed of the Transcend will be ample.

The only card I ever had fail on me was an 8 GB Transcend card that will do it for me with the transcends

I know unfortunately after I lost 41 wedding shots. I have several transcend cards and that is the first failure of any card Sandisk and Dane electric included

Been using TRANSCEND 266c 8GB CF cards and 16GB SDHC cards for several years.... No problems. Shoot lots of cards. They are the best, especially considering the price...... (which is low)

I have a transcend 16 GB SDHC class 6 card and it is MUCH slower than my SanDisc 16 GB SDHC Class 4 card. using the SanDisc, I almost never see the "busy" when managing the images in camera, with the Transcend, I see it often.

I would spend the extra money if possible.
