I had a body and heavy lens hanging off both shoulders, a butt-bag full of other stuff slung around the front and just about every pocket of my Domke vest was full.

I was number 499,999 out of 500,000 in line to get on the bus back to my car and I was just spent. I happend to look behind me in the direction of the setting sun and saw an F4 Phantom II reflecting the sunset but being as beat as I was, I just didn'thave the energy to try to shoot it.

But, the photographer in me said "Hey, that's a helluva photo op. What are you doing? Take the shot...!!!"

So, I raised the 5D + 70-200 and captured this:

"Twighlights Last Gleaming"

And to think I almost passed on it.

This is mine. I call it "Fatherland"

I took this photo by Loch Lomond in Scotland. What I love about this photo is that this Scotsman is walking away from his flag and country but holding onto the values of his family by wearing his kilt. It is not about patriotism but about growing up and leaving your father's house, whilst still holding onto the values and dreams which he instilled in you. We all experience this journey whether that is leaving our parental home or moving to another country.

No way for me to pick. This one from a piece on bull riding really shows what the first second of a ride is like. These PBR cowboys are some of the toughest people I've ever seen. Great photo subjects.
