Nov 14, 2009 23:17 | #5 Kirby, those are great. I wish that I had had more time. We took the old trail to mirror lake and got really tired carrying all the gear. Next time I'll make sure that I'm in shape. We bought a yearly pass, so we'll be up there a lot this year. 5D mkIII, 1D mkIV, Tokina 16-28 f/2.8, EF 24-70L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II IS, EF 100-400L, EF 85 f/1.8, Sigma 50 f/1.4, EF 24-105

The second is an excellent composition with a strong foreground element that doesn't overpower the pic, also has some nice colors and detail, but seems a little bit underexposed. The trees on the right could use a bit of dodging to pull out some detail. A few adjustments, and this one can be a really nice image. I agree with an earlier recommendation to crop the third pic...too many distracting footprints/lack of interest in the foreground...the crop is a much improved version.
