I would say with only one subject you could probably open up your aperture more so you can get that "blurry" background, bokeh. which brings me to the next point, watch your backgrounds. In the first picture perhaps you could have taken from a slight different viewpoint so we just saw the brick exterior in the background rather than the hose and window. Rachel | Metro Detroit
