Interesting shot, Shea. Good idea on the 17-40 in rain...it's all sealed, as long as you have a UV filter on the front. Did you have a UV filter on the lens? Just curious.

Thanks Jeff. Was a fun place to visit, but, 'really' packed which was to be expected of such a place. I'm just glad I took the extra minute to stick around, frame the shot, and wait for no one to be there. Literally, a few seconds.

As an aside, you can get some nice colors/colours if you use those plastic ice cubes. Now you're gonna wanna make me try this...

I have a UV on this lens more than any other, because it gets abused the most My 17-40 has been pretty much everywhere but underwater, and has never skipped a beat (except for the rock incident this summer).

Had my first paid gig and the 1ds2 performed like a champ.

I love the weather sealing on this thing!! I shot in pouring down rain for probably 30 minutes with my 70-200 f4L IS, and it just performed flawlessly!

I've had trouble in the past trying to capture actual rain drops falling in the air as the focus point always seems to be on something else and the drops end up getting blurred to the point of being invisible.

What's your secret?

I wish I had one . This is one of the better rain shots I've taken, It just kind of worked out, I did slightly bring out the rain drops by adding some contrast, but other than that, its very close to as shot. My 70-200 f4L IS really performed great that day, I've never had a bad experience with that lens. I focused on the front of the umbrella, closest to me, if that helps any.

Hey guys, quick question. How does the ISO3200 compare to, say, a 40D or even 5D2? 5D2's basically better at that ISO by about 1 to 1.5 stops, right?

Well my friend offered me his mark 2 for $2,100, but my sale for my 1ds didn't go as planned (my fault). I have a choice..either keep my 1ds and buy his 1ds2 out of pocket, or pick up a 24-70L and 70-200L next week. I think I'm going to just invest in glass
