You don't want Ultimate anyways, unless you need the language packs or have a strong desire for Bitlocker. Go with Pro.

that is very true.but i shouldnt be talking considering im already running W7 Ultimate on 2 computers and thats the only way id have it

If you are a student, or have a .edu email addy, you can get it for $30. just search for Windows 7 student $30.

There is a strategy that will save you money if you're upgrading from XP to Win 7. Because you have to reinstall all your third party programs anyway, don't buy the "complete" Windows 7, buy the upgrade version. You save $100.

The only difference is that when you install Win 7, you hit Custom install instead of standard. The Windows 7 program is identical in both the Upgrade and the Complete.

I did the XP to 7 with the Upgrade, without a problem.

A thing to remember, you do not need the full version. There is a work-around to use the upgrade version to do a clean in stall on a drive that does not have Windows. This worked with Vista and it works with 7.

For the past couple of Weeks Windows 7 Premium had been selling for $49 at Best Buy, CompUSA and some other major stores.
