More from last year, with Michael O'Brien in the Ford and the mighty Audi S1, sounding amazing in that man Watson's hands....

I'm looking forward to the annual pilgrimage to Grizzly Grizedale. I'll be making the trip as per usual with young Mr Harrison and keeping fingers crossed for a repeat of last year's weather....cold but fantastic light !

The entry list is shaping up nicely too :)

I might be in the Lakes that weekend - any tips on where to go? do this...avoid that etc. Never photographed motorsport before other than motocross once. Any help appreciated.

I've seen lots of cars converging on Broughton Moor before - is this the same event, just another stage?

Only ever been to High Cross, which is at the top of the hill on the road from Coniston to Hawkshead, you cant miss the turnoff into the wood, it will be arrowed.
There are other areas to park, full details on :

Hey SAB_Click, There is a stage over Broughton Moor, a short one run twice but not really advertised to speccies, its a bit out of the way, and on single track roads for access and exit, so will be difficult to get in and out of come rally morning when theres cars going everywhere, better to stick to the big forest.......

Erm...yes...know what you mean. Inadvertently, I've found myself on that road twice now in previous years (not knowing it was the rally)...you're right, it does get very congested. I remember passing down last year and interestingly I remember the weather was great!

Its a great location for a rally, but some of the roads are a wee bit mental, when theres rally traffic akimbo.........Coniston is a nice wee place and has some good pubs, the Yewdale in the centre of town is holding the prizegiving again, as normal, and will be lively on Saturday night if you fancy a pint of Bluebird and the craic.......

The Clerk of the course has said that, although the weather has been atrocious in the Lakes, as you may have seen all over the news, the Rally will go ahead, the stages have not been affected at all, nor the road sections, so all looks good..... watch this space.......will update further when and if more news comes thru..... entry list looking quite good, Steve Petch in the Hyundai, Paul Bird in the Focus, a Corolla WRC, 2 6R4's, plenty of Escorts, just need the weather......

GSH,

Now that's a good rally image. Now get the car flying upside down through the same scene and I bet you could retire on the proceeds.

There was a Dam 4100 (6R4 type thing) that tried to provide exactly that shot.

Similar to the shot i posted above, but in a completely different part of the Forest...
