I was at a wine tasting recently and a local wild animal rescue group was showing some of their raptors. My favorites are the Kestrals are my favorites, they look like fighter jets in flight.

Why would it be cheating? I'd rather they were in focus, but captive birds are still birds. ;)

I don't think it's cheating either. These birds were brought in for other reasons and now they're educational birds. Nothing wrong with that. ;)

Great series.

It's not cheating unless you were trying to pass them off as birds in the wild.

I don't think it's cheating, sometimes it's the only way to see them up close.

Most people (including me) never get to see a lot of these birds...without shots like these. I also don't think it's cheating, I just wish there was somewhere around here that had birds like these to educate the public. Nicely done.

I went to a place near here where they keep injured eagles that can never be released back to the wild. I was devistated and depressed for days afterward. The poor things looked dead, underweight and you could see in their eyes they wished they were dead instead of being tied to logs, 5 to a small room, while a steady parade of fuddy duddies walked past snapping pictures.

I will never go back. :(

Not the same with these birds though.

I agree with Dan, it's only cheating if you pass them off as being in the wild. Not a big fan of zoos and captive critters for the sake of googlers but animal rescues are way cool. Nice bird images you have taken.
