they do look soft, not compressed. put up some larger ones so people can appropriately comment on them.

1. the girls aren't pulling on the guy. The first one is just kinda leaning back on second one. The second one is just standing there and the third one looks like she was gonna pull but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. This really messes up what you were going for.
2. eeeh.
3.just a jump shot,
4. .... another group shot.
5. appears to dark. In this type of shot, being cropped the way it is, it would be benefical to be able to see some sort of depth
6. yet another group shot. it's good. but do you have other shots from the day?
7. its okay. the flowers are cut off and their faces are too dark.
8. looks good. The image just looks a little to flat though. could use a bit more light on them.

it's just hard to comment on the same picture 8 times. Probably one of the reasons for lack of comments.

8 was an exageration. giving up on here will not help you become better. I, personaly, am a long way off from being any good. i quite often suck at taking photos. that's why i lurk around here, so i can get better. A lot of people praise not so good photos on here just because they are "nice" But being overlly nice and not honest doesn't help any. For the record, I didn't say your pics were bad. It is simply hard to comment on the quality when the pics are so small. Most just need a minor adjustment or two.

I really like number 1, its fun and quirky...im sure the bride and groom would love that!
number 2 made me laugh out loud, did you suggest this? or was it the grooms idea?

I may not have any experience what so ever, but i am always checking out this forum (i think my interest comes from the girl obsession with planning there own wedding, even while single).
I would love to see the bigger photos, But i really like your style.. is fun, quirky
I dont normally comment on many photos on here, but when i read you were giving up, i wanted to let you know that with every person that doesnt like your photos, there are people who do.
at the end of the day, if your clients are happy, its good!

I really like 5 and 7 on the second set. The bald guy throws off 1 and 2. Like the composition of 3, but its blownout. Good job.

Hi Mate,

Keep at it.

My overall comment is to really watch your exposures - they all appear dark in the first set.
The second set is better, and i'll comment on these as i can't really see enough of the first set to see accurately what's going on.

1 & 2 - solid effort.
#3 - looks like her dress was completely blown out. Keep an eye out for this. If it's a high key pic then it's ok, but this isn't really. Is she blinking or squinting BTW?
#4 - good, fun, classic - try getting in a bit tighter next time - it will keep the energy up in frame :D
#5 - Good stuff. A little on the dark side, and next time, keep the boquet out unless you specifically want it in there (ie, she'd be better off holding it in this, or just not have it in shot).
#6, 7, 8 - good solid shots - just bump them up a tad in exposure (#8 a little more than 6 & 7).

When you're first starting out, you're formals will tend to look a little "corny", and that's ok - so long as they're exposed well and in focus, your clients will be happy, and you can learn what to do different next time.

like that second set much better. Think you could clone out the flowers in 5 and bump up the exposure in the last three. Maybe sharpen her face up a little in number 7.

Number 3 is really blown out. Even with a raw file, that would be hard to recover and still show detail. Her dress is blown in 4, but you should be able to get a little of that back. As for not blowing out wedding dresses... It happens to everybody.

Kilts... I will never understand them.
