I just got 7D but strange thing it's in box that says 18-135 kit lens.
Are all pure 7D bodies sold in same boxes that the ones with kit lens, and canon wanted to save few bucks on printing different boxes for kit and body only?
Or maybe for Europe they selling it like that?

Doesn't look like it. Although I've seen black boxes with 7D body only. Idk if it was only a prototype or possibly overseas.

Maybe they bought the kit, but then de-bundle it and sold each seperately..??

I know a lot of places do this, and the ad says 'lens no box'

I mean that I ordered the body only and the box had 18-135 kit lens also advertised. I reckon they got the bundle and cut it up.

Some sellers do that. I purchased an XS/1000D body - only problem is they're only sold in kits with the EF-S 15-55mm IS. The seller has found it more profitable to break up the kits and sell the items separately.

Shouldn't sellers inform us about that in advance, especially when ordering online? I don't mind buying it like that but you know, other way you're start thinking "someone was fiddling with the box, did camera was used, sent back etc"

I don't mind, although I admit to thinking that I got a free lens for a moment.

In my case that was disclosed and Canon told me the body was still covered under warranty. This was an authorized dealer. Hopefully this also is the situation in Europe.

Oh my, It a good point, I didn't think about it. So sellers shouldn't do that !

Obviously it's more profitable to debundle - and possibly also to consumers advantage in some cases. For example, maybe someone wanted that lens, but didn't want to buy the camera. Or perhaps they're doing YOU a favour - they didn't have any body only sets available, so broke up a bundle version for you. Everybody wins.

You will find a lot of dealers do this, people want body only but dealer only has kits so they split them. It does not affect the warranty of the Camera or Lens... I had the same when I bought my 30D, only thing is the guy said it was a body only and the lens had been removed as they only had kits. Anyway when I got home the lens was still in the box :D

All the best

I got my 7D but it does not have any mention of any kind of lens.
