i never see deals on anything besides consumer level camera bodies. black friday is geared towards the mass market and the type of stuff you are looking for doesn't appeal to them.

Joe- 2 bodies, L 2.8 zoom trilogy and a couple of primes

None, at least none of any significance. I'm looking for a 16GB SD card and that's about it. I've blown my gear budget and it's going to take a while to build a new piggy bank.

BF is a nice time to pick up on CF or SD card deals. I got three of them mailorder last year with the obnoxious rebate routine - but 2 months later the rebates arrived and everything did in fact end up being free.

I loaded up on CF cards last year. The Lexar rebates were pretty quick, the SanDisk debit card "rebates" took forever.

I remember drooling over a 1GB drive, back in something like 1994!

If you are looking to go the external-enclosure route, I just picked up two of these for both me and my father: http://www.newegg.com …spx?ItemList=Combo.297679 (external link)

Didn't really need it, but couldn't pass up the deal.
