Forgetting that some systems have in body IS, how many 135mm primes have IS right now, none.

So what is your point...that the 135L would not benefit from 4 stop IS?

I don't own one, but I was seriously debating getting the 135L or the 70-200mm 2.8 non IS for roughly the same price. I decided to go with the Zoom lens because it gave me more options and because the 135L being a prime lens has limited focal range. The biggest downside to the Zoom is it's size and weight, I'm hoping the image quality is close, I'm not expecting it to be equal. I hope I made the right decision.

Don't forget the non IS when talking about the zooms down side bw!I personally would never own a zoom lens with no IS

I started to have second thoughts and thought maybe I should have ordered the 35 and not the 135

After reading this thread again.....pretty sure I made the right descision.

hughes_57 - When you say you will not own a zoom w/o IS did you really mean telephoto?

I had the 135L for a week then decided 35L is better for me.

But yes 135L is stunning. Too bad I don't use it anywhere as much as the 35L.

Hope this helps :)

I guess I would sorta agree. I think if I buy the 135L it would collect dust but when I use it it'll be golden. Its one of those lenses that is more for specific needs due to the longer lengths.

I'll buy one eventually....

10.1

Had it for 5 odd years. It compensates for my screw ups. I will never sell it.

Sharp wide open, blisteringly fast AF, delicious bokeh: 9.9/10
