The 24-70 and 135 is very versatile on covering events and walkabouts. But personal taste for travelling is 17-40 & 135.

Anyone shoot with the following combination? 24-70 and 135. I'm gonna go FF sometime in Jan when I get a load of £ from work doing overtime over new year and I'm thinking about lenses...

I've also got a 1.4x that I picked up locally second hand so that would make the 135 more versatile.

very nice combooo....
:D love it !

I took this combo to Europe on my honeymoon along with a 5D. I wanted to travel light. It was an agonizing decision on what to take, but I think I made the right choice.

That being said, I used the 135 very little in comparison to the 24-70. Your mileage may vary.

24-70 + 135 is a great FF combo. The main thing it's missing, IMO is a wide aperture.

If it doesn't bust your budget, you might consider adding something like a 50 f/1.4 to the mix just for the times when you need those extra stops. The 50 f/1.4 would also be a nice lightweight alternative to the brick for those times when you wanted something more portable.

Yeah this will be next on my list (a quote from a post earlier in the thread)

.... The other priority I have is a FF replacement for my sigma 30mm. I'm aiming for the sigma 50 but have the canon 50 1.8 to start me off...
