You're right - how many of us can fully utilise the gear we already have. On that basis, I can't justify spending several thousand on a camera I can't fully utilise, when I already have a camera that cost a few hundred that I don't fully utilise!

I am hoping my name is on the order list. I told Mrs. Santa thats what I wanted for Christmas. Hopefully I don't end up with a pair of socks instead. Seriously, I should be on there. I want one.

I need the 1D Mark IV. I simply can not progress as an artist without this new tool. I have reached the limits of my 1D3's capabilities and I must regrettably move on to a more capable tool.

:D

Do you think the wife will buy it?

Maybe you could suggest she "needs" some new shoes, handbags and whatnot to balance things. :)

I think my wife is ordering me one for Christmas Tim. Just ask and you shall receive. I asked for an 85L mkII for my birthday a few months ago and was surprised to not only get the 85L, but also a 5DII and a 50 1.4.

edit~ Yes guys, she does have a sister. Yes the sister is hot. Yes the sister is single. No I will not PM you her phone number.

At this point in time, I'm in the "No, I am not getting a Mark IV at all" category.

I reserve the right to change my category at any time in the future.

That's how I feel. I feel like I should be openly allowed to completely bash the camera, and in a few months when I get my hands on one completely change my mind and bash people for bashing it in the first place
:p
