Seriously? A full blown tripod for a 40D, with a 580EXII, and a 70-200 F/2.8... Seriously?
At least a monopod..

Exactly...

The tripod,,the most under rated piece of photographic equipment around..

I have a chuckle in these "What gear do I need" threads.. People recommending the latest greatest lenses, flashes etc but no-one seems to recommend tripods???

A while ago I was conducting a weekend workshop on portrait/glamour photography for a camera club.. During a daylight shooting session with a model some guys were using tripods some guys not.. One guy was hand holding his camera but had his camera bag hanging off his tripod.. I asked him why?? He told me he hangs his bag off his tripod so it doesn't get dirty by sitting on the ground:rolleyes:
