For me, the answer is BOTH the 35 L and 24-105, as I use them for different purposes. The 24-105 is great for walk around general purpose lens, and I also love it for studio portraits. The 35 L is 3 stops faster but limited to 1 useful FL.

Fujifilm X-T3, 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, 80mm f/2.8 OIS Macro, 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 OIS, 1.4x TC, Flashpoint R2 Strobes/Flashes

The 24-105 is a great lens, but you all ready have the 24-70 and 70-200, so I would go for the 35L first.

I had the 24-105 and got annoyed with the distortion at both ends of the range. It also isn't lightweight or small -- it gets longer at the shortest FL.

Huh? Thats the 24-70 you're thinking of...24-105 is longest at 105mm

I'd stay away from the 24-105 for reasons I have detailed in this thread:

https://photography-on-the.net …hread.php?t=759277&page=3

I'm aware of the distortion and vignetting. Thanks for bringing it up though. It's still a very useful lens for general walk around and travel/vacation.

That's exactly my answer too. Just not sure which to get first :)

Did anyone hear if a 35mm f1.2 or a 35mm 1.4 MK II is coming out soon?

The current 35L has been discontinued.....

Here's one from yesterday. The person speaking to the press is from the Fire Department Haz Mat team. This was at UCI. I explain what happened on my blog: http://www.ronniechung.com/blog/?p=792 (external link)

Thanks! And then lens is perfect for photojournalists. This lens lens plus a 70-200 2.8L IS makes the perfect combo IMO. :)

Gah, threads like this always make me want to go 35L + Tammy 28-75. I'm in Seoul right now taking a ton of photos and have found (as usual) the zoom + IS is convenient, but the 35L just looks so sexy. Hmph.
