Well, my 24-70L showed up today, FedEx. Dell site is still showing the entire order "In Production" with an Estimated Delivery Date of 12/2/2009. No tracking numbers, no nothing, yet part of my order is sitting right here on my desk.

Oh don't tell me that. Now I'm going to be hoping that my 5DMII just arrives everyday. Of course I'll be the one that doesn't get it until next year.

Well yeah, me too. I've wanted the 24-70L for ages, but not to use on my 20D. I've been waiting to go full frame before I bought my "dream lens".

Dell for lenses or other gear?
1. Good luck understanding anyone in customer service after the 50 minute wait
2. 15% restocking fee and often up to 30 days to receive a refund. Thats 30 days after they recieve it (the return).
3. They lie about inventory and often make you wait far too long to receive the item
4. Support is HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

I will tell you that I have plenty (unfortunately) of experience with them as my company used them exclusively. My most recent expeince involved them charging our account 15% and shipping fees for a system that was supposed to be new. It was a refurb and had no installed OS. Their claim was I should have used Technical Support to resolve the issue and verify that it was the wrong system. They place stickers on their systems that say "REFURBISHED".

Since my 24-70L came yesterday, and this morning my entire order showed on the dell site as delivered, but with no tracking number(s), I decided to call order support. I was told the 5D MKii kit is backordered, not expected until 12/18.

Hurry up and wait...

I received my new 70-200 2.8 with a significant amount of dust inside. I have tried calling 3 times each call I was on hold over 45 minutes. After waiting that long, I keep getting "disconnected". I am so mad about DELL's customer service, HORRIBLE for sure!!! I am now worried they are going to charge me for restocking. I don't think I will ever buy from them again.

Kelley :(

I ordered a 70-200mm F4 from Dell.com on 1st. I received an email telling me it was ordered.
I emailed bing.com 48 hours later asking them what is happening with my cashback. I'm still waiting for a reply.
 grrrrr not happy!

Adorama and BH are not great but neither has ever given me a problem with a return. I try to buy from Adorama as much as possible even though I have had a few small problems in the past. I have to pay taxes with Dell so it's not a great bargain for me anyway. I'd rather take my chance with FleaBay.

Update...I finally got through after over 30 minutes being passed around and put on hold over and over. I was told I would be sent a replacement and a return label would be emailed to me immediately. This was two days ago and guess what? NOTHING! Well, I guess I will be spending a lot more time on the phone trying to get this over with. I even tried emailing on the support page of the website. I have only recieved automated response saying my complaint was received. Nobody has emailed me back or called. I am so beyond frustrated with DELL.
P.S. The lens did look very new, I suppose sometimes some dust can be normal but this is the first time I've ever seen it like this. I should've just bought a good used one!?

Hmmm, that's a 2009 date code. I was thinking you may have gotten something that Dell has sat on for a while since they must not sell much with no discount. Good luck with it, let us know what happens.
