i got mine last week, and after a bit of a hassle getting Spyder2Express to calibrate the Dell as my main monitor, I'm up and running. looks great! it's very illuminating to take a photo and drag it back and forth to see the difference. it's real.

The FedEx man just dropped mine off. I Ordered it on Friday afternoon and took delivery on Tuesday morning. Not bad at all.

What problems did you have calibrating? Or is this due to multiple monitor setup?

They come with different frame colors? I wasn't aware of that.

I'm so in love with this monitor :) I think hubby said he paid $360US for it from Dell Small Business. Calibrating it was a breeze with my i1Display2 - out of the box it was nearly perfect, not much to do other than take down the brightness.

I'm in love!!!

They don't charge extra for the mains lead do they

Never seen one any colour except black.

Be careful, there is a 2209W and a 2209WA. The WA is an IPS panel while the W is a TN panel.

Glad I found this thread.

I just got off the phone with Christa and got a 2209WA for $212 + tax :D:D:D:D. Now I can finally get rid of my old CRT I've been using for 5 years; the LCD that came bundled with my new PC just doesn't cut it.

just found one for £210 in the u.k and am about to buy..

just one quick question, i have the spyder express 2 to calibrate my monitors will this work with the 2209wa?

current monitor is calibrated with it well although due to restrictions of the monitor my images always appear slightly over saturated which i am pritty sick of and want my prints as i see them on the screen which is what i am hoping the 2209wa and spyder express 2 can give me?

Regards,
Jon.S

It will do just fine. Leave all the monitor settings at factory defaults except lower the Brightness to about 5%. Make sure you have the newest software for your Spyder2 Express downloaded from DataColor.

Thanks for that, are there any other settings that need to be changed or just leave everything as it is out of the box just tune the brightness down to around 5/10% ? sounds similar to the other monitors i have done just the dell will have more options.

I have been told to have the sharpness setting at around 2 does this sound right?

With the upgrade i have not upgraded since buying as i didnt not know whether to as it worked fine, the only differences apparently were for 32 and 62 bit versions of xp and vista am i right?

Out of curiosity, out of the box how near is the 2209wa to what you get from your prints before calibrating?

Regards,
Jon.S
