I see the post your favorite photos of 2009 in many other sections so I figured, what about macro? ???
So here is the place to post your favorite macro photos taken in 2009.
Feel free to share your experience or reason of it making your favorite macro

Of course I take many different types of macro photos so I will post my top three (maybe not my best and surely not my most profitable macro photos but they are my favorite for 2009 :) ).

My favorite Insect macro, I was amazed that I caught them at what they were doing (also sad).

Vampire Night

My favorite Natural macro (which gives a great kiss ;) )

Macro Kiss

My favorite Abstract macro, I made this photo by taking many colored threads and after spending a long time getting them through the needle took a black magic marker and performed magic to the left of the needle :)

I've had a quiet year on the macro front. This was my favourite of a very small collection. Going out again this weekend, so will see if I get something worthy.

well for sheer difficulty of capture a Springtail preparing to jump - Jumping is a 3-step procedure:1. lifting both forelegs 2. everting both vesicles of the collophore. Then releasing the furca to take off.
All this happens in a fraction of a second. Add to that this is a new undescribed species and only 1mm as an adult.

fun shot, this Harlequin was blocking the march of a column of aphids:

a successful 4 shot stack and reward for getting up early to shoot

finally always nice to make a special journey to witness something special:
