I know it said one photo but I simply can't make up my mind so you will have to suffer with two shots.

I would probably pick these two.

I have a hard time narrowing it down to one favorite of the year so I'm going to post two....one of the largest birds I photograph and one of the smallest...they're each special to me for many reasons.

But I can't forget the bird that got me started in Avian photography. If it wasn't for a Red-tailed Hawk landing in a backyard tree and me trying to get some captures of it I think I would still be riding motocross and doing that type of photography. :D

Eastern Kingbird from one of my first outings shooting birds:

IMAGE: http://dangerwillrobbins.smugmug.com/Animals/Wildlife/Birds/IMG6196a/601378944_UUoDn-XL.jpg

I rented a 100-400L to shoot some AMA superbike racing and went to the park to get some practice with the lens and wound up getting some shots I was incredibly pleased with. Now a print of this is hanging on the wall of my office. The noise is barely noticeable in the print.

here's mine, a red shouldered hawk eating a snake, I heard some crows making a racket (they were half heartedly chasing the hawk) and looked up in time to see this hawk with a snake in its claws land on the top of this tree in front of me and proceed to have lunch!

These are probably my favorites, taken at opposite "ends" of the year:

1. Red tail hawk with prey on the ice, Branchbrook Park, Newark NJ
