When you are traveling lite or outdoors with plenty of light, the 70-200L makes a good portrait lens. It gives you the flexibility of a zoom and sharpness of a prime. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to buy the 85L, but right now I don't see myself using it much. I already have the 35L as my low light lens and it's the perfect travel companion to all my zooms. The 35L is the perfect focal length for indoors and tight spaces where the 85L is too long.

during events, they will be more aware of the white lens. That's what I've found when shooting events. The primes help me to stay invisible. Especially when I wear all black and use a gripless body. If I can just use two gripless 5ds with a 24 and a 50 on each of them, that'd be beautiful.

i meant in studio =)

Nikon, then Canon, then Nikon again. But I still love POTN over NikonCafe. :p
