I went to the Mark Wallace Tour Event today in Los Angeles and was given two shields. Haven't used them yet as I just got home.
Anybody else go today?

went yesterday and am absolutely a believer. got the shields yesterday, and they work!
I was getting ready to send all my Flex's back, working intermittent @ best, but now they
are rockin'. not to rehash the argument, but it was the flash units causing the problems, pocketwizard went out and corrected the challenge, and wireless ETTL II sweetness all the way around. Got the new firmware also!

Hi Gentlemen,

just writing from Germany.
Got these lovely TT5 for 430MC.

But unfortunately, they do react on RF interferences.
PW said there will no or less impact on 430MC but as far as I can judge,
it is not!

I got a range of abt 7m which is 20feet.
After that, it will not fire at all.

Talking abt. 1DMK3 with 580EX (V1)
I got four of those TT5 to work with three 580s

Now, since PW is shipping the AC5, I tried to get 4 of them, but they do not send it to me.
I should call the German Dealer...
Great... these guys refering to US-Site.... which leads to a loop, some how..

Now... is there a chance to get a couple of AC5 from US when I pay shipping...

Any ideas on that?

Thanks
Any comments are welcome

Any help appreciated

Greetings
Frank

Frank this is an email I got from Pocketwizard.

Our shipping department should be contacting you shortly with the invoice.
We're planning to include AC5s in the box with future FlexTT5s, but we don't have a specific date when that will start happening. Just let us know when you get new FlexTT5s and we can send you more shields at the cost of shipping.

Shipping to the UK is $12.00

Hope that helps

I have had mine since 12/12. I signed up the first day the announcement was made for free AC5 units.

I also sign up for the free AC5 in Nov. and yet I still haven't gotten mine yet. So yesterday I called and complaint about not receiving my AC5 shield yet from them (pocketwizard), and guess what they decided to ship it out today. Amazing what a phone call can do.

This is bull. Still waiting and I'm hearing Mark Wallace is passing them out like nothing.

I've had to borrow pocketwizards I SOLD to a friend the last 3 gigs because my flexes are unreliable.

I have been considering Pocket Wizards for a wireless solution with Canon gear, but have been somewhat hesitant because of the RF problems that I have heard of. You can kludge a fix by getting some conductive screen or film and making a "SOCK" similar to what they are calling "AC5 RF Soft Shield". It is standard RF practice to use this type of RF shielding. If the PW design used a higher frequency (2.4GHz), the problem would be minimized.

I been using them a lot. I haven't received mine in the mail yet as I had signed up for them really late (end of Nov.) I received mine from the Mark Wallace Meetup Tour.

Here is a distance test I did at a school gig. This is just a distance test as I had my 580EX II on top of my MiniTT1 while the other 580EX was across the gym. I had a fast shutter so I can get some creative look to it:

p.S. The gym was fairly dark at the time due to the gym lights not fully powered up yet.
