I feel a little sick

I just sold my beloved 50D Gripped that has not once let me down in the 5050 pics we took together.

It had always put a smile on my face after I reveiwed the event's picture on my PC.

I just decided the other day to get the 7D. I don't like taking videos. o I probably never use that feature.

1- The autofocus looks way to complicated for me.

2 - The body is so expensive, I had to drop the idea of getting a grip for it in the same order.

3 - I have no trust in it as I heard people having 7D's crap out on them at the best moment. Now the camera and I will have to start from scratch to regain my confidence all over again.

It must be the fact that it's 18MP and that makes for some nice copping.

I even have a little headache...because of this move I made. I have an important shoot Jan15. I just hope I am ready.

Breathe! I know how you feel. I switched from a 40D to a 5Dm2 a couple months ago, and never looked back. However, I am having a hard time working my new light meter. Why does god do this to me??

I have a 20D that I'm thinking of selling, But I want a 7D, But I mainly use my 350D... How much harder is it to get used to one after either of what I have?!

I'm sitting here and going to sell my 30D to get a 7D, I know this, and despite how tired i am of some of my 30D's limitations, I still sit here and go "But I've had it for 3 years, I've shot about 30,000 images with it...its been through some things it was not designed to go through and still looks new and still survived" and realize how hard it is for me to part with it...

It's called "buyers remorse" and happens to lots of people making all sorts of purchases. I bought my 5D2 this time last year and felt so bad I didn't unpack it until January!! In my mind, I thought I might return it for a complete refund. I've still got it and it's just about to go to Venice with me.
BTW, I still don't have any interest in video and I really wish Canon hadn't bothered to go down that road. I've heard all the arguments in favour, but if they had wanted to, they could have released a video-enabled full-frame DSLR as a different model. Consumers like choice not non-optional extras. Murphy's Law applies. "If something can go wrong it will", and any fault that develops in the video system will become an issue that would devalue the body: - whether you use video or not!
My car doesn't double as a caravan, my kettle doesn't double as a steam-to-electricity generator.
Xmas does however double as an opportunity to get new kit!

I too am finding some 'issues' after moving from the 50D to 7D. Here are a few:

1) Focus point(s) system is very difficult to understand and apply

2) AF doesn't always work with my lenses. This is a REAL issue!

3) The rear view screen is WAY sharper than the images. Great shot? Guess again!

It'll get better after I learn more on the ins and outs of the 7D. You'll probably find the same as well.

Thats seriously not acceptable. I'm thinking of getting one in the summer. Hopefully its firmware "fixable"

I thought this was an issue with Sigma lens only!
This is not good...

I replaced my 50D with a 7D and have no regrets.

I'm agraid you will be disappointed RE crops, the difference between 15MP and 18MP is negligible.

The big improvements for me was the AF and the new viewfinder. The new AF has a bit of a learning curve but is wonderful once you get a handle on it.

Not good at all, I just bought a sigma 10-20mm and after a fisheye... I really want a 7D too

Happens with my 70-200 f/2.8L which is my 'go-to' lens. For instance, if I point it at a light colored object without much detail, the camera does nothing. Doesn't hunt and grind for focus ... just NOTHING. Pretty disconcerting issue.

I would download the manual from canon's site. Read and learn all the new stuff be ahead of the game. When you get it practice with the different AF setting for a few days so you will not have any problems like other. Hope it will serve you well as it does for me.

How little detail exactly? Camera needs some contrast on which to "bite" or else it won't AF...

Kidding aside, why so worried you haven't even use the camera yet. And it hasn't dropped in value so maybe you lose 200 dollars if you want to resell?

Frankly you should stop worrying. When people talk about this and that issue on new cameras it sounds to me like people who are hypochondriacs. As in sometimes they imagine the worse and start looking for problems. Often the end result is them convincing themselves of a problem when there is none. It's not healthy. Relax and enjoy the camera when you get it.

HEy guys one advil and reading this thread made me feel much better. HAHA

One question...how many of you feel the need to grip the 7D?
