Is this effect done in Photoshop using blurs? I have thousands of ariel shots I've taken that might be good for this effect.

There is a link to a tutorial in the first post and a couple more on the first page somewhere.

Here's one I tried to do.

This shot is an older one I took from a camera mounted on a kite.

Looks promising, could do with being a tad brighter though. It seems Fake Models benefit from having colours that are brighter and more punchy than real colours.

How are you guys doing this effect in Photoshop Elements?

I can get the blurs, but cannot blend them very well. Any tips?

Thank you. bw!

I don't have Elements myself but do you have Quick Mask and the Lens Blur filter? These are the main tools to get the effect.

here are those pics from my friend's iphone.. and interestingly enough, he didn't punch up the saturation.. instead he desaturated. he used a combination of a few iphone camera filter apps (vintshift + camerabag helga):

^^^ The railway one looks nice, then I guess it would :D The others could benefit from a tad more sharpening in my opinion, but hey for an iPhone not bad at all! :)

Crazy video & a scary event, but it's not(hope the crew is OK).
My shot is looking east over East Grand Boulevard in Detroit, from an intact footbridge spanning the road in the former Packard assembly plant.

I wholeheartedly agree, the train looks like it was a model. In fact, it looks so much like a model, I almost don't believe that it isn't a model! I only believe it, because I trust you.
