Have had my 7D for just over a day now... I LOVE this camera.

No softness issues here... This was taken with my 17-85, my copy seems to be quite sharp. :) Sorry for boring photo, was just playing around the house!

I am using the Extreme III 8GB 30mb/s edition cards, and I get 17 RAW images with no issue at 8fps.. And within a second or so, I can get another 3 shots right after, then every second or so I can burst two more. Very impressive cards. I was worried since many people say you need UDMA cards, 60mb/s, etc... Not true!

The 30mb/s cards are excellent!

+1 I am using those cards too with no issues whatsoever so far 30mb/s is good enough

Agreed, that's about the minimum speed needed, but it is nice being able to offload a 16GB Cf card to my computer at 60 MB/s. :)

Here's a couple with my new 17-55, this lens is a perfect match for the 7D:

damn, damn, damn.... very nice! <<<< maybe im just more exited about the car in the shot then the shot itself, lol. I have to say man your pictures were a big influence in me getting a 7D. cant wait till mine gets here.

care to share which lens this was taken with?

With the framing and the shallow DoF, and assuming his gear list in the signature is current, then I would have to say it was taken with the 100 f/2.

The Extreme III 30MB/s is UDMA:

The Ultra II's are fine for video, no problem keeping up with the camera's buffer.

Check to see if the Sandisk rebate is still in place. You get two 45MBs Extreme IV cards for 260 and get half of it back on rebate. Ordered mine when I ordered the camera and had them a couple days before the camera arrived.
