Loving the series. Wow, Seattle is a place I have to visit. Might need to include this during my first, yes first visit to the US in June.. ??? :)

Try late July or August. The weather is outstanding, mostly sunny days with very little rain (and I mean little, if any). Temperatures are generally in the 70s and low 80s. Just after the rainy season ends the greens in the Seattle area are remarkable, which is why Seattle is called the Emerald City. Combine the greens with the blue of the water and sky and the gold of the sun with snow-capped mountains in the distance (Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains to the west) and this area is fabulous. This is definitely a picture taker's paradise. The folklore is that the rainy season ends right after Independence Day (July 4th). For anyone who has never been here, this is a MUST visit.

Don't tell anyone else how awesome it is, I'm tired of all the people moving here! :) I think Snohomish county is one of if not the fastest growing county in the US... at least until Boeing moves!

:-x

EVERYONE is going to end up there before I do. It's so... disheartening. :(

Awesome capture -- really like #1. I know that Christmas Eve/Christmas brought on some incredible weather, so glad you made the most of it!

That's the second reason I want to get out there in the winter. I was out there in the summer (I got in on the hottest day on record), and of the seven days I was there, I only saw The Mountain once. (And then it disappeared the morning after, when I tried to get a sunrise.)

I don't wanna take over your thread, but yeah, it's incredible when there's no haze.

Dont worry about a thread hijack....its a good landscape photographers conversation to have.

Heres another example of a mid December cold crisp shot (85mm looking west, and its level, look at the lower bridge)

Heres another taken from the plane, using my pre-DSLR fuji, mid july (must have rained recently then to clear the muck out)

IMAGE: http://home.comcast.net/~mreidsix1/fourmtns2.jpg

In this case you are seeing all the way from Mt Rainier to Mt Hood in northern Oregon and Mt St Helens off to the right.

So i guess if anything time your trip after a good soaking
