Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM

100L on my 1dm3 will be 130MM though but then i only get 2.8 with the IS . 135L won't it be suck without the IS ? How about portraits shots with 100L ? will it be usable ,or 135L much better cuz the F2 ?

I think i read somewhere that because the f/2.0 rating's relation to the focal length of the lens, that the f/2.0 of the 135L gives amazing bokeh because the actual width of the aperture has to be so wide.

have anyone try the 100L @2.8 compare to the 135L@f2 ? I was wondering if anyone use the 100L for portraits and get amazing picture as 135L (bokeh) .. and @what Fstop that both of this lens is sharpest ?

Maybe you should ask that to Timnosenzo. He did a AF-speed test between those two lenses.

Very nice photos! Esp considering the black dog was in a shadow.

Yea it was real tough to expose for him correctly...had to play a bit with fill light in LightRoom...

PS- The lens is working great!

Got this little sheep for Xmas...

I'm selling mine again. I have my mind set on the new Zeiss makro-planars ZE.
I bought it to see if it could replace my 135L, but it couldn't (for my type of shooting).

Just got this lens, aint used it yet.......I hope its okay because my 400mm prime has gone for it.

Well, playing around with high ISO on SWMBOs 7D gave this...

Is that flare OOC or did you have to emphasize it in post-processing?

OOC - I got lucky No PP other than usual DPP tweak -> jpeg, USM & resize.

Thanks for the compliment! TBH, I took two like this, one with flare, one without - guess I just moved enough for the 2nd!
