Happy New Year to you too, Alan !

I would have made the snowman face the camera and I think the DOF is too shallow with part of the hat and the cardigan out of focus.

I agree with Henk.. I also think that it might be slightly underexposed. White Balance looks a little warm. I also think that the subject on the left are a little distracting. I love the composition though. I think the snowman looking camera left works.. Great work!

Underexposed, WB is off and composition is questionable with the left side of the image containing nothing but distracting elements.

Some may like it better but I liked the slightly "warmer" look of the first one. Composition is less cluttered but was not bad to start with - it were all strongly related or "repeat" items in the blurred background. That is the difference with a distracting background that contains unrelated items.

The second one is great. Composition-good. Background-good. I like that the snowman is looking off the frame. what are the settings?

Yes I did. Sorry for the confusion. I responded to the first post at the same time you posted the second shot. Then I reponded to the second shot at the same time vk2gwk responded and felt that was better worded than mine so I deleted mine and agreed with that one. Thank you for the settings by the way. Great job on both images
