-Solved-

And does anyone else's manual focus ring make clicks or sounds when you turn it to the left? It makes turning it a little less smooth, it doesn't happen when I turn it to the right though.

No, no clicks, but you've got to stop down a lot more when you're focusing that closely - f/3.2 at MFD isn't going to do you any good.

edit - oh, and your shutter speed is absurd, unless you're on a tripod with a remote trigger... and you're at ISO 100 - you've got all kinds of things working against you, first and foremost being light, or lack thereof.

Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.

^ I think I've got the sharpness issue fixed now, thanks! I was using a tripod and I had it on timer.

The issue that still stands is the clicking. It isn't very loud but noticeable because it causes turning the ring to the left less smooth... and I can actually feel it. I wonder why that is?

Thanks, on those corals shots, I probably used F8~F11, iso 100, remote shutter release on tripod.
Even w/ F8~F11 DOF is still thin so focusing was done in liveview at 10x mag

I've seen some very nice macro shots using focus stacking. I haven't taken the time to get into it, but it does produce some fantastic results when you are real close to the subject.

Haven't picked up the 100 macro for some time, but got some orchids today so I couldn't resist popping off a couple of shots!
