Bought my first DSLR about 3 months ago at the end of September. In late October I bought my first L. I started with the 24-105 f/4 L and like it so much that I bought a 70-200 f/4 L IS a couple of weeks later. Next on the list is the 35 f/1.4 L for indoor low light use. I just need to save up a little more cash and find a nice used one.

Canon T1i ~ 24-105 f/4L IS ~ 70-200mm f/4L IS ~ Canon 50mm f/1.8 ~ 18-55 IS ~ 430EX II

LoL!!!! i was interested in Paintball for a couple months and was buying/ trading stuff all over craigslist then sold it before i even started playing!

it seems like each time i get out of a hobbie, i get into another expensive hobbie and then my wife says she wishes i was in the old one just so i would stick with one....

right now i can only afford building computers or photography and photography wins.

She bought me the 55-250 IS and let me buy a 430 ex II (thats the best candy we can afford right now lol.)

My previous hobbies were:

1. motorcycles = had 3 of them sitting in the garage at one time, sold 2 of 'em and 1 is collecting dust in the garage
2. RC = my 2 heavily modified nitro trucks are also collecting dust in the garage
3. Firearms = have at least a dozen locked in a safe in my closet, it's been about a year since I've been to the range.

Since I became a father, gave up all those former hobbies and have picked up photography :)

I bought my 70-200 f/2.8 right after I bought my 1D mk iii. (it's been down hill since.) I've got L disease.

Sacrifice? You have no idea. At least I live in Europe though.

I just got my first L last week. :) Needless to say, I'm still giddy - and with the results I've had so far, I will be for a long time.

400D in 2005 -- After too many recommendations, I got the 50mm f/1.8. Couldn't believe how amazing it was in comparison to 18-55mm kit lens; this was when I realised it was all about the glass.

After umming and ahhing for longer than I care to remember, I figured to hell with it and bought the 70-200mm f/4L IS roughly 2 months ago. Unfortunately my 400D died two weeks after so I figured I've already blown that much on a lens, why not pair it up to something that will do it justice. So I got the 7D. :)

Getting my first L was one of the happiest occasions in my Life. I was using a tamron 18-200 before and I got the 70-200 2.8L , the big white , the weight , the size , the color , it was like a dream. I was in love with it immediately.

My first L just came- the 300mm f/4 IS!

I've got it in my hand and got the quick release plate mounted. This is so cool! :D

It is the perfect weight and size and the build quality is incredible. Time to get it on the camera!

My first and still my favorite was my 35mm f1.4 L. The lens is amazingly sharp through all apertures and worked great with my 20D. And even better when I upgraded to the 5D. The colors are the most realistic to my eye. A colse second favorite is the 135mm f2 L.
