I am in awe Dave. Extraordinary set of images, each one a pleasure to view.

Things have gone from feast to famine here, I'd pay good money to have you as my guide for a day.

Great work, I mean REALLY great work.

Very nice! I love the texture in #1 especially in the head! How close did you get or how much were these cropped?

Great series! Love the owl.

Thank you "Mom", seeing two Northern Hawk Owls in two weeks has never happened to me before... fortunate at best..:)

Thank you Steve for the kind remarks. You would have "fired" me as your guide today... I walked for over 2 hours in 8 degree weather & wind and saw 2 RB Nuthatches and a passing raven... all my hand fed birds are at my house sitting around the feeders... much smarter than me.
It is funny what each day brings in shooting "material." I guess it is the anticipation that keeps us on the hunt... ;)

Thank you!... I guess the tree was around 30 - 40 feet tall and I was about 40 yards or so away... there were actually 2 eagles in the dead tree, but there were so many twigs and branches in the way I was extremely fortunate to get these shots... as far as the cropping, all I know is that I am not about to trade in my 50D quite yet..:)

It was Sharon, sunny and absolutely no wind, a far cry from today... Thanks again.

It turned out to be a fortunate setup, every aspect seemed to work out in good order... always appreciate your comments Joe.

db, when I grow up I want to shoot like you. Beautiful images my friend. The blue sky is a bonus too! I'm enjoying the warm days here in S. California, but miss my home and Canyon. Another month of this darn warm weather, then I'll head for home...heh..heh.

Hey, have you have been out in the sun too long?... :D... far away from the "Magic Perch"

That day was sun filled, which has not happened too often this winter on the ridge... Enjoy your remaining month in the sun.... Thanks for checking in, good to hear from you.

I am waiting for my 400to arrive! When you say hand hold...do you mean off hand, or braced against a tree? Also, what kind of shutterspeeds are you shooting at to off-set the camera shake. You do beautiful work...who better to ask for help? Good shooting!

Hello briz, not sure how I missed these, it has been pretty tough for the last 2 months now. Excellent shots once again, I am going to have to come visit you in the spring, heck I bet all your pretty lakes and ponds are iceing up already.
Well done my friend! indeed well done.
