This system costs nearly $700 to configure at Dell and it is $489 at Amazon right now. Included the 6 cell battery that sticks out the bottom of the laptop, but it is an awesome machine!!

The price is now $475.31

Great deal. I was going to buy a similar spec HP on sale at Office depot. Same chip and also RAM. The price (which was very good) was $700. Tempting but maybe not tempting enough for me to bite.

I wonder if this machine would have the power to run MS Office, Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom. I'd love to find a small laptop that I could use for traveling.

The Amazon configuration comes with everything. I was totally amazed. Windows 7, 6 cell battery, 4 GB RAM and 250 GB HD. The pictures on Amazon show the 3 cell battery, but I can verify that it is the 6 cell.

Well I took the plunge and ordered one of these yesterday, with my amazon prime account it arrived about an hour ago. I'm loading up Photoshop CS4 & Lightroom 3 now...I'll let you guys know how it performs in a bit.

It's a pretty sweet looking machine, seems to be the perfect size and it's really light. I have high hopes! :)

I ordered one also. of course, I was cheap, and took the free shipping. Three days later it still shows waiting to ship (ship date 1/12). I guess this is why people pay for Amazon prime!!

There's reviewers complaining about the touchpad configuration. I bought a similar Dell Mini 10 and I couldn't stand the touchpad.

I have a Dell netbook mini 10. It took about two days to get used to the new touchpad. Now that I undersatand how it works I have no problem.

No problem at all with the touchpad. Just take 5 minutes and customize it.

Yeah, the touchpad isn't really that big of a deal to me...customized the settings and it's cool. So far I've loaded up CS4, LS3, and Photomatix Pro and all 3 run very well in their 64-bit mode. I really don't see any difference in performance between this machine and my 17" desktop replacement (gaming) laptops. So, in other words...I'm a very happy camper! :)

Thanks again for posting this deal up!

You're welcome. I enjoy the POTN community, so I thought someone else might need a portable solution like me.
