My friend is looking to buy one, he just went down to ohio with his mosin and kar98 to shoot a few rounds off with a group of people at the range. Somebody had the the 50 cal there and he went nuts with it, in all fairness he doesn't have a camera addiction ;P

I suck at Photoshop.

50 cal can be an expensive hobby depending on how far one takes it. One can easily pass the 1D Mark IV in cost.

Here's my first "real" shot with the 1D4. I'm loving these images. I didn't use DPP on this one, this time I used Lightroom 2.6 for the import.

The files are simply beautiful.

Too bad you cannot use the 10 fps + flash to catch the brass flying. BTW, does your have the safety sear? Mine does.

Just wish they had some wood stocks! :)

Side note - imagine a Canon 1D IV with a wood body. Wouldn't that be cool?

Probably wouldn't (woodn't) be weather-sealed though.

Not only that, but I'm sure the bird photographers wouldn't appreciate woodpeckers draped all over their WOODEN cameras. :p

To the contrary. Just set up the 1D IV-W on a tripod, and then shoot pictures of the woodpeckers with your 5D2 and 24-70, as they pack on your mahogany handgrip!

Seriously? I thought it was pretty cool, other than Tharmsen not being very handy with a knife. :p

I thought it was lame too - the fact that I don't have one to open.

Show the other side please. I want to see your name. :)

You should really post these images on a web site called The Firing Line. Have you ever heard of it? Please post your FiveSeven picture next. Incidentally, I have the green PS90 and a FiveSeven; funny we are both FN fans.

After seeing pictures like this, I'm really beginning to reconsider my FN SCAR order. Oh decisions decisions.

Congrats on the 1D MK IV! Love the high ISO shots. Can we see some samples past 12800? Just curious. :)
